Map It! Monday

Gobble, gobble stampers!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and did exactly what you wanted to do....I did!  Spent the day with 28 people that I love.  What could be better than that?

I don't know about you, but I am always looking for simple but quality gifts that I can put together for someone.  Then I thought with the Christmas season upon us, why not hand stamp some recipe cards?  It's great to make that favorite chef in your life some recipe cards featuring your favorite dishes and of course their's.  While you're at it, you could also stamp a few extra to have on hand for that lucky bride who might be getting married this year.

I designed mine with My Digital Studio.  You could do that and print it out or print a partial design and turn it into a hybrid by adding your own finishing touch to it with stamps or embellishments.  You could also cut down a basic index card, mat it and embellish it.  That way you have the lines already printed for you before you begin to decorate it.

Don't forget to take a picture and email it to me so you can be featured here next week!  Until then...

Map It! Monday!

Happy Halloween Everyone!  Are you taking little ones out trick or treating this evening or staying home to pass out candy?  I am doing neither.  The group I belong to, QC Moms in Business is participating in the Halloween parade in Davenport, Iowa.  It's going to be the first time since I was a kid in 4-H.  Should be lots of fun.

Before I get to the card map, just a quick reminder that today is the last day to take advantage of the FREE Big Shot.  It's also the last day for the Simply Said card kits special of buy two kits receive the coordinating stamp set free.

Okay, on to the card map.  As you can see it's a Thanksgiving card.  The edge is stamped in Cajun Craze on a Really Rust cardstock.  Under that stamp is the Medallion stamp in Cajun Craze but stamped off first.  Then of course, whatever leaf you have will work just fine.  Finished off with a simple phrase and some Red Riding Hood brads.

Don't forget to take picture of your finished project and send it to me so I can feature you as a Guest Designer next week! Have a safe and happy Halloween!  Until then...

Map It! Monday

Happy Monday Stampers!  I'm so sad to see the end of the weekend.  The weather for the past two days has been just beautiful.
Did anyone do anything fun this weekend?  Saturday we attended my grandson Robbie's 7th birthday.  Wow!  I don't know where the time goes.  I remember the day he was born as clearly as I do his mommy's birth.  Legos and Nerf toys so of course, the Nerf war began.

In our family, the Sunday following your birthday you get to choose what I cook for your birthday dinner and the kind of cake you want me to make.  Well Robbie chose Grandma's Stroganoff for the second year in a row.  I got up early this morning so I could get his chocolate cake with chocolate frosting made.  What a disappointment that was.  I flipped the cake over to remove it from the pan and the center and some thin edges stayed in the pan. :(  Well, Robbie got to eat some of his cake, sans frosting before I tossed it and headed to the grocery store to buy him one that was already baked.  He didn't care he loved eating the cake both times.

Okay, on to this week's challenge.  You all know that I make my card maps in My Digital Studio.  Well today I did it using the punch tool.  It took a while but I enjoyed myself.  Can you guess how I made the mouth?  If you want to know you'll just have to ask or maybe....

So your challenge this week is all punches to make something for either Halloween or Thanksgiving.  I'll be attempting a turkey next week...I hope.

Don't forget to take a picture and send to me so I can feature you as a guest designer on my blog!

Map It! Monday Challenge

Happy Monday Stampers! It's time for the Map It! Monday challenge. What I decided to do this week was share with you two Halloween cards that I made. I love them and I hope you will too! I would love to see what cards you stamp for halloween!

This first card is made using the Batty For You stamp set. I also used the Tasteful Trim Big Shot die for the border. I think it's pretty self explainatory.

I just love this mummy!  I think he's adorable and sooo simple to make too.  Just strips of paper and punches!  How simple could that be?  This is not my orginal design.  You can find instructions and ideas for these all over the internet but I can tell you how to make if you want to know and don't have time to surf.

If you have any questions, just let me know!
Happy Stamping!

Map It! Monday!

Happy Fall Y'all!  It's October, I couldn't resist.  Recently I had a card class for a group I belong to of fellow business women, QC Moms in Business, and it was thank you cards for their customers.  One of the designs was similar to this one and I liked it so I decided to change it up a bit and show it to all of you.

I've used white grossgrain ribbon, Baroque Motifs stamp set, Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper Blooms, current In Color Island Indigo cardstock and ink, Melon Mambo brads and second year In Color cardstock Peach Parfait.  I love how it turned out!

I hope you will play along this week and send me a photo or scan of your finished masterpiece so I can feature you as a guest designer.

Map It! Monday!

Happy Monday Stampers!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  We certainly did in the Peterson household.  Sunday was the best I must say.  My family and I, eight of us total, participated in the Prostate Cancer Walk in honor of my husband.  Many of you know that he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer about 14 months ago.  He is doing well and his PSA levels continue to fall.  There is not a lot of "publicity" I guess is the right word, about this cancer so we did our small part to help raise awareness.
On to this weeks map!  This is just a simple quick card and actually it's similar to a card we are going to be making in  a special class on Friday filled with my fellow business sisters from QC Mom's in Business.

The point of today's design challenge is to take a simple card and bling it up baby!  Use whatever you would like on the whisper white strip across the card.  It can be sentiments like below or various images.  Then bling it up and show us what you can do to make it look extra special!

Don't forget to take photo and send it to me so I can feature you as a guest designer.

Map It! Monday

Happy Monday Stampers!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  The weather has been just beautiful in the Quad Cities!  Things will be changing tomorrow to cooler temps again....this sounds like Fall.  Do you know what that means?  Beautiful Fall colors.  Changing leaves and Halloween!
Today's challenge is a Halloween card.  You don't have to make it like mine.  Use whatever stamps, colors and embellishments that you have on hand.  When you have completed your challenge, take a photo or scan of your completed challenge and send it to me so I can feature you as a guest designer!

Map It! Monday!

Happy Monday Stampers!  Did you stamp anything this past week?  Kiddos are back in school so I am hoping to get some fabulous projects done this week.

I'm very excited!  Wednesday I am having some very good friends over and we are going to create!  It's always fun to be creative with friends.

For today's map I chose another 12 x 12 scrapbook page.  I just had some inspiration and wanted to make it like a Tic Tac Toe game.  You can tell by the Tempting Turquoise how I ALWAYS place my X or O.  :)

Why not give this layout a try?  Don't forget to take a picture so I can feature you as a guest designer.

Next week there won't be a Map It! Monday!  It's Labor Day and that means family day for me.  My entire family gets together and has breakfast at 6 a.m. and then wait for the Rock Island parade to start.  It's one of my most favorite days of the year.  So here is wishing you all a relaxing Labor Day!

Map It! Monday

Hello Stampers!  Wow, the summer is just about over.  My oldest grandson James, returned to 3rd grade last week.  My youngest grandson Robbie, goes back on Wednesday.  So we spent last week just hanging out together.  They are not brothers but cousins so last week was their last full days and I know they already miss each other.

Well on to this week's design challenge.  I know this looks like a scrapbook page but what it actually is, is a tri-fold card.  When you create your design, it doesn't have to be Christmas, just a tri-fold card.  That's the challenge.

I'm so excited...I have all of my classes on the calendar throughout 2011!  Currently they are listed on Facebook but I will be getting an email out to everyone.  Until then...

Happy Stamping!

Map It! Monday Challenge

Happy Monday Stampers!  Can you believe that summer is almost over?  Where does the time go?

It's been such a nice summer that these colors just spoke to me today.  I hope you enjoy this layout.  It couldn't be simpler.

Don't forget to send me a photo so you can be the "featured designer" next week!  Have a stampingly week!!

Buy 3 Get 1 Free!

It's a great time to stock up on Designer Series Paper!

Map It! Monday!

Happy Monday Stampers!

I am trying to get my Christmas mojo on so I thought  for this week's challenge I would do a Christmas 12 x 12 scrapbook page.  I have a big vendor show coming up in November and I plan on doing a Stampin' Up! booth along with handmade crafts using Stampin' Up! products, hence the need for myChristmas mojo!

So for this week's challenge, make a scrapbook page.  Any size is fine.  Design something for two photos and an area for journeling.  Also part of the challenge is to use stamps not just embellishments or punches.

Use the layout I have show but you can turn it any direction to suit your needs and/or personal taste.  It doesn't have to be Christmas, that is just what I chose.  Okay stampers, show me what you've got!

Don't forget to take a photo of your project, or a scan, and email it to me.  I am dying to feature one of you as a "guest designer"!

Happy Stamping!

Map It! Monday

Happy Monday Stampers!  Whew!  We've certainly had a heat wave around here.  Of course we should have all expected it...it's been fair week.  Rock Island County Fair was going on all week and it either rains or is so hot you can barely stand it.  Even so, we took the grandkids to the fair on kids day, Wednesday to ride rides, play games and of course they had to have their funnel cake.  It was also nice to see my oldest grandson's 4-H projects for the first time this year.  He is in the same 4-H club that I was in taught by the same leader, my Aunt Joyce.  She has been the leader for over 40 years now.

Well I guess it's on to this week's Map It! Monday challenge.  I love this Designer Series Paper and I don't get to use it often enough so, I thought it would be a good choice for today.  The challenge is to use a piece of scrapbook paper for the focal point of your design.  Then use a simple stamp for some embellishing if you wish or just a sentiment.  I did use buttons for the centers of the flower and also the oval scallop punch and the oval punch.  I stamped-off to make nearly transparent birds all over the paper.

Remember to use what you have and take a picture so I can feature you as a "guest designer" next week!  Until then...

Map It! Monday

Hello Stampers!  I apologize for the delay in posting.  I have taken the last couple of weeks off.  Busy planning for my Annual New Catalog Bash and Customer Appreciation open house this Saturday.  I'm so excited to see everyone and show off some new Stampin' Up! toys!  On to the Map It! Monday challenge.  I designed this challenge using the new In Colors.  Aren't they just gorgeous?

Okay, let's see what you come up with using this layout.  Don't forget to send me a photo so I can feature you next week as a guest designer.

Map It! Monday!

Happy Monday Stampers!  Wow! We have had such beautiful weather for the past couple of days, it's been hard to concentrate on business.  But I did behave myself (a little) and completed this week's map.  I decided to try my version of a Heritage page starring my parents.  Both of them are now deceased so I thoroughly enjoyed looking at these photos while I was working on my page.

I would love to see your Heritage page and feature you, with your permission, as a guest designer right here on my blog.  All I need is a scan or snapshot of your finished project.  Remember to use what supplies you have on hand.

Now onto the Last Chance List.  There are less than three weeks to place your order for items on the Last Chance List (located to the left of this post) before they are gone forever.  Remember there are limited quantities of certain items so some things may already be gone.  Contact me as soon as you have decided what you can't live without.  :)  Until next week...

Happy Stamping!
